Mathew Twitchen



Mat is a Chartered Electrical Engineer whose technical expertise is in the design and commissioning of building electrical systems and services, such as power distribution, control, life safety and resilient electrical systems.

Mat joined E3 in 2012 as a Senior Engineer, he was promoted to Associate in 2021 and became a Partner in 2023.

His early career started in 2002 when he joined AECOM as an Electrical Trainee in the Building Services department in Exeter. He transferred to the London office in 2006 to gain further experience on different projects and to undertake a part time degree at London South Bank University whist in full time employment.

Prior to joining E3 he worked as building services consultant based in Tokyo. Whist working in Japan he worked on a number of projects for Major Banks and security companies. These projects included data centres, office due diligence and restack/refurbishment works.

The focus of much of Mat’s work is attention to detail. He is a highly skilled design engineer who is adept at understanding the client’s requirements and realising these by finding and applying innovative solutions in challenging situations. His particular technical expertise includes the design and commissioning of high resilient electrical systems for broadcasting, major bank and security companies based in the UK and overseas. As well as witnessing integrated systems testing (IST) for a number of major projects.
