John is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and holds a BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Bath (2015). His technical expertise lies in the design and delivery of building electrical systems and services, including power distribution, lighting, life safety systems, and low-carbon electrical installations.
John joined Hoare Lea in 2015 as a Graduate Engineer and progressed to Associate over his ten years at the practice. He has developed broad experience across the residential, commercial, and education sectors, contributing to a range of large-scale mixed-use and redevelopment schemes. He is a proficient user of industry-standard design tools including AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, ElectricalOM, Dialux, and Relux.
John’s focus is on sustainable and efficient building design, with particular experience in higher education and residential developments targeting strong environmental performance. He has held key roles across the full project lifecycle, from concept design through to completion, leading multidisciplinary teams and managing coordination across complex schemes.
His approach combines close attention to client requirements with a practical understanding of regulatory frameworks, enabling him to deliver coordinated electrical solutions that are both technically robust and aligned with project ambitions.
