The new Science and Arts Building at QEH school in Bristol includes three science labs, a prep room and two new art classrooms.
The new building is in a prominent location with views from many residential buildings and therefore we had to work closely with the architect to minimise the visual impact of the plant, louvres or flues. The project has received high acclaim for responding sensitively to its historical setting adjacent to a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
The building is highly insulated and incorporates heat recovery ventilation to all the science labs. The PV array on the roof reduces carbon emissions by 20%.
