This is a new 420 pupil Passivhaus primary school at Oakmeadow, Wolverhampton. The new facility replaced an existing school building on the same site.
The school is a two-storey timber-framed building with extremely high levels of insulation and triple glazed windows. The heating loads are very low due to the high level of insulation and airtight building construction. The school is naturally ventilated in the summer and mechanically ventilated for the rest of the year.
Oakmeadow School is one of first schools in the country to achieve Passivhaus accreditation.
