BREEAM Very Good 2016
This was a significant regeneration project for Middleport Pottery in Stoke on Trent.
The UK Historic Buildings Preservation Trust are the owners and landlords of the pottery, with the anchor tenant being Denby who continue to operate the pottery business using traditional techniques.
The scheme involved essential repairs to the building fabric, while creating additional workspaces for start-up businesses, and visitor facilities including museum, shop, café, gallery and function rooms. The scheme formed part of a wider regeneration masterplan for the area.
The building was officially opened by HRH Prince of Wales in June 2014 and subsequently assessed as BREEAM very good. HLF funded.
