Magdalen Chapter Hotel is a Victorian listed building near the city centre in Exeter. Previously an eye hospital, it was converted to a hotel in 2000.
The scheme involved a complete refurbishment of the existing bedrooms and public areas, and the provision of additional guest bedrooms primarily in a new contemporary roof extension.
In addition, a new spa is included in the garden refurbishment included new heating and comfort cooling throughout the hotel, using heat recovery air source heat pump technology. Solar thermal system contributes to the swimming pool heating and hot water demands.
