2009 Sustainable Project of the Year – Building/UKGBC
This scheme involved an extensive remodelling and re-cladding of a large existing 1960s office building to revitalise Hampshire County Council’s headquarters in Winchester.
The building incorporates natural ventilation, together with a background mechanical ventilation system that provides winter heating by harnessing heat rejected from a sizeable IT suite’s involvement included the detailed thermal analysis, managing the wind tunnel testing and VRV system design.
The project was completed when E3 was the Bath office of Ernest Griffiths Consulting Engineers. The Bath office’s role was to coordinate thermal analysis and wind tunnel testing at Cardiff University.
