The Old Refugee Camp near Kidderminster is an abandoned accommodation complex to house workers involved in the ammunitions industry during WW2. We were appointed to develop and energy strategy for the site to address the sustainability requirements for the development. The solution included a centralised biomass boiler installation using an old grain silo system located on the site. The design strategy targeted Code 4 for the listed buildings that were to be converted to work live accommodation.
