The buildings at Ditherington Flax Mill include the oldest surviving iron framed building in the world.  Presently unused in a state of disrepair the site presents significant conservation challenge. The proposals include regeneration of the whole site which includes a number of listed buildings to create a mixed use development. In 2010 we completed the design of the site energy strategy to maximise the contribution by renewable energy technologies. The project has now received listed building consent, and has been successful in gaining support by funding bodies including the Heritage Lottery Fund. Phase 1 of the scheme is due to start on site in 2013.
